    Aromatherapy

Lavender is a popular herb used for aromatherapy, for it calms the nervous system, making it a sedative. It also reduces stress in the body with its anti-spasmodic qualities. When the body is relaxed, the mind can also relax.

Essential oils form the basis of aromatherapy. These essentials oils are the extracts of plants and their parts and form their life force. These oils are extracted by the means of steam distillation, cold expression, or fixed oil or alcohol extraction. They are highly concentrated and should not be used directly.
